Poured a clearish amber body with frothy head and lace patches down the glass. The aroma is basically like spring with floral hops being the dominant smell. Smooth, clean, slightly crisp, has minimal malty edge with some hop zest in the finish and pretty easy to drink.

Semi sweet caramel malt nose and taste. A solid Marzen.

2022 Edition (5.8% ABV per label) Canned On: 07/13/22.

16 ounce can - Woodstock Beer Market in Woodstock, Georgia.

Appearance: Amber-hued body, fairly clear capped with a medium-sized, off-white head.

Smell: Moderately bready nose with a toasted grain element, a distant, clean yeast character and very minute hop hints.

Taste: Breadcrusts and a flavor of crisp grains enveloped in a little touch of light, tight sweetness. Modest hop accents. Clean fermentation character. The Märzen steadily dries nearing the crisp finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Overall: Quite enjoyable. With Sierra Nevada forgoing making an Oktoberfest this year to focus on products like Hop Slash, a sparking hop-infused water, you gotta take whatever Oktoberfest beer you can get your hands on.

Poured from a crowler filled on 10/8/20; consumed on 10/21/20

Pours a glistening, deep, and translucent mahogany-copper body topped with just over a finger of fluffy, off-white foam; good head retention leaves a slivered veil of semi-creamy cap, a fluffy ring of collar, and an eclectic array of webby/spotty lacing spread around the walls of the glass.

Aroma displays notes of dry caramel, rum hard candies, and fresh brown bread to open and with rounded lager yeast interwoven; distant candied prune, earthy honeysuckle, and perfectly toasted malts rise over middle while the bouquet softens to a milder toast pronounced into back end and roasty malts accented with a faint plummy character, light minerality, and lager yeast close.

Taste brings forth a toasted malt harmony touched with lighter tones of prune and fig upfront while a firm, background lager yeast informs the profile alongside a faint minerality into a decidedly nutty tone over the mid-palate; delicately charred bread crust textures detailed brown and rye bread into the back end, where wildflower honey peaks a mystifying and paradoxically dry malt sweetness on the finish.

Mouthfeel offers a medium body along with a pillowy, moderate carbonation giving form to a flaky crispness balancing an otherwise bawdy malt profile on the tongue; semi-slickness on the mid-palate persists briefly as a consumptive background grit coats the palate into a back end, where a mild 'snap' eases into a fading, dry finish.

A fairly weighty Märzen continually sifting through the layers of its malt foundation, it projects an unforeseen balance which may otherwise seem at odds with its ambitious and unwaveringly expressive depths; however, the texture deepens and wholly engrosses, easing more vigorous characteristics to a lager in true equilibrium; genuine brilliance in the style on full display, enjoyed comprehensively from start to finish.
