Twelve ounce can pours a very dark brown with mocha-colored head. Good lacing. Coffe nose. Inviting. Taste follows nose and is a nice blend of roasty coffee and bitter char. Good mouthfeel and carbonation. Easy drinking.

My cousin Angelica brought over a can of this beer. Poured out of a 12 ounce can into a standard pint glass, this beer pour is a clear, very dark amber/brown color. Has a tan head that’s about half an inch thick one first poured. Head settles eventually to a thick ring lining the inside of the glass along with a thick layer of film layer surface foam. Decent lacing. Aromas of some roasted malts with hints of chocolate and coffee along with some herbal, grainy, earthy have Nots. A very similar flavor profile, with the aforementioned roasted malts, black coffee bitterness, bitter sweet dark chocolate notes, and some earthy and herbal hops that provide just a tad more bitterness. This beer is not overly bitter or overly roasted, with a nice balance of each of these characteristics that go along with the rest of the flavors quite nicely. Has a slightly crisp mostly smooth, just slightly oily, medium bodied mouth feel with like tomorrow at carbonation. Has a slightly dry finish an aftertaste, although all of the aforementioned flavors linger nicely on my palette for awhile after each sip for the aftertaste. A very nice representation of this beer style.
