Bottle 0.66L. (tasted in 2017)
Clear orange body with an average, frothy, off-white head, mostly lasting with some nice lacing; low density of tiny bubbles.
Moderate malty (caramel, bread) and light yeasty aroma with notes of fruits and some spicy alcohol.
Moderate-to-heavy sweet and light-to-moderate bitter flavour with a long lasting sweet finish.
Medium body with oily-to-creamy texture; soft carbonation; moderate alcoholic feeling in the finish.

This may be the best BPSA I've ever had from Bavaria. When yeast is tended for continuity as the Germans tend to do, it requires considerable skill to tend yeast for spontaneity as the Belgians do. 12's yeast is tended for spontaneity and spice.
This yeast has good life. It foams well and it continues to swirl; I'm invited in. Typical of the style, Smells are more fruity than malty; but the fruit is not as exuberant as the masters. Tastes still are balanced by the indescribable spices that keep popping up, mostly yeast Peppa then some hops. Medium-mouthed, but quite viscous and close to full.
This is my fifth from Riegele. Three were traditional Bavarian, one a RIS and this. All good. These guys need to spread the gospel to other Bavarian brewers that this is now a cosmpolitan world. Prost ! Sante'! Cheers !

A solid Tripel, reminsicent of Duvel. Notes of clove, banana, and honey. Weak lace but solid moutfeel. Also kicks like an angry donkey, beware!

Shared bottle at local tasting. Hazy golden to orange colour. In the aroma pleasant and spicy notes of Belgian ale yeast collide with some less pleasant hints of vomit. Quite sweet and distinctly spicy flavour, hints of ripe bananas and cloves. Warming mouthfeel.

Lacks complexity for what it is. Almost a hybrid between a strong dopple and a lager, which is really a little weird. However, some banana, some peach, some apricot and a really beautiful color makes it a decent beer overall.

Poured from cellar temp. Pours a nice orange with strong amount of white head. Retention is good. Nose is temperate rain forest, orange, apple, and some floral notes. Taste is a tad bitter upfront, but smooth and sweet on the aftertaste. Getting lots of Belgian yeast, fruit, and a bit of tree bark. Maybe a bit of horse leather. Quite nice - definitely not a typical pale ale. Mouthfeel is medium and not too dry.

Aroma of overripe bananas. Taste is sweeter (caramel) than normal for a Belgian Strong Pale Ale, with a strong, spicy, peppery finish. Highly carbonated and the 11% makes itself known. Overall, a solid beer.

Large shared bottle from the UK.
Clear honey colored body with a weak head. Low but adequate carbonation.
Fruity aroma. Well balanced, complex but fairly mild flavor. Sweet aroma with a mildly bitter taste.

Dulcis 12 has a thin, white cap of foam, minimal lacing, and a hazy, golden, slightly bubbly appearance, which will cause a strong burp, however. Aroma is of Honey Comb brand cereal, bees’ wax, and breakfast cereal grain. Taste is of those elements, along with low-level bitterness, Bit-O-Honey brand candy, maybe coriander, and spiced bread. Mouthfeel is a touch slick and medium to heavy. Dulcis 12 finishes semi-dry and sip-able.
