Brewer’s Reserve: Farmhouse Ale Fermented with Gewürztaminer

Pours clear dark gold, highly effervescent, with a large, rocky, off-white head. Good retention for that much fizz, and thick clumps of soapy lacing.

Fruity white wine aroma with pear, apple, oak and very light funk.

Much drier tasting than I expected after the fruity nose: lots of wood; some light, clean acidity; some soap; some mushroomy funk; and some clear, but restrained, white wine and pear impressions.

Very prickly, well carbonated feel — almost aggressively so. Otherwise, very light bodied.

Looks and smells fantastic. The taste is good, but a bit of a let down after the amazing set up. A very clean tasting saison with some distant dessert wine impressions; somewhat over-carbonated.
