The endless pursuit of titanic hop character often leads to financially questionable decisions. And we wouldn't have it any other way. Featuring the new experimental hop variety, HBC-586, this irresponsibly hopped West Coast IPA boasts an intense bouquet of passion fruit, guava and citrus.

Kind of bought this just for the beer name but I probably wouldn’t have bought it if I hadn’t tried a few other Liquid Gravity beers and been thoroughly impressed. Their website called it “The endless pursuit of titanic hop character often leads to financially questionable decisions. And we wouldn't have it any other way. Featuring the new experimental hop variety, HBC-586, this irresponsibly hopped West Coast IPA boasts an intense bouquet of passion fruit, guava and citrus.” I’ve had more than a handful of beers (looks like at least 10 at first glance) with HBC 586 in it but because I mix it up sometimes with a couple other numbers, I had to double check the characteristics (mango, guava, lychee, citrus, with slight sulfur and herbal notes).
Poured a medium yellow clear color with 6-to-7 fingers of rocky white head. Lots of fast-moving bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. World-class foamy lacing. Almost perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Really liked the smell probably because I really am beginning to like HBC 586. Also cedar, pine, mint, herbal, mango, guava, citrus rind and hints of coconut. (Smell - 4.25)
Taste wasn’t quite as good as the nose. Got HBC 586, cedar, pine, herbal, mint, mango, guava, passion fruit and citrus rind. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Smooth finish. (Feel - 4.50)
This was pretty damn good overall. Another good one from Liquid Gravity. (Overall - 4.25)
