Type: 16-oz. can
Reviewed as: American Fruited Sour
Glass: Monks House of Ale 12-oz. tulip
Price: $5.69
From: Windmill Farms in Del Cerro (San Diego), Calif.
Purchased: Dec. 15, 2021
Consumed: April 16, 2022
Misc.: No canned on date
Went to Windmill Farms for a sandwich and told myself I was going to casually look at beers and grab a few if it made sense. Well, I came back with a 4-pack of Barrel-Aged Ten Fidy and nine singles, including one of these. Not much of a description for this one except for the obvious - passion fruit, orange and guava.
Poured a medium golden hazy color with four fingers of rocky-to-frothy white head. Could see a few bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Excellent spotty-to-foamy lacing. Excellent foamy retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled terrific. In order passion fruit, guava, orange, grapefruit, pineapple and papaya. Not quite as good out of the can. (Smell - 4.25)
Tasted about as good as the nose. In order passion fruit, guava, orange, pineapple, grapefruit, papaya, peach, apricot and pear. (Taste - 4.25)
Light body. Creamy texture. Average-to-soft carbonation. Long, citrusy finish. (Feel - 4.00)
I’m a sucker for POG sours but this was pretty damn good. Glad I picked up a can although the $5.69 price point seems a bit much. (Overall - 4.25)
