473 mL can from the brewery; packaged Aug 24 2020 and served slightly chilled.

Pours effervescent and crystal clear, with a pale golden yellow-hued body that supports more than an inch of foamy, puffy white head. It lasts for several minutes, leaving behind a smattering of sticky seafoam lace as it recedes; other remnants include a tight collar of creamy froth and a paper thin, sudsy cap - looks well above average for a light lager, and the same is true of the aroma. I'm getting doughy, bready malts and honeycomb sweetness, with a touch of biscuit and just a hint of citrus.

It's not bad at all, and it's certainly a step up from the macro lights. It tastes of bready pale malts with a doughy, honeyed sweetness also coming through; hints of biscuit, lemon zest and a faint wisp of weakly grassy hops towards the finish, with biscuit persisting briefly into a slightly malty-sweet aftertaste. Light in body, with moderately lively carbonation that agitates the surface of the tongue, giving some crispness to this brew's smooth texture. Easy to drink, and definitely sessionable.

Final Grade: 3.58, a B grade. Imperial City's Light Lager is better than average: my only complaint is that it finishes sweeter than I'd prefer from a light lager, and that's hardly a major problem because the overall flavour profile is still enjoyable. I'd probably take their Bohemian Pilsner over this, but that's entirely my own preference as they're about equal in quality - if you're looking for an all-malt light beer with some flavour to it, then this should be relevant to your interests.
