473 mL can from the brewery; dated Jan 25 2024 and served slightly chilled. Reviewed from notes.

Pours a clear blonde yellow colour with half an inch of soapy white foam rising to the surface. Within sixty seconds, it has been reduced to almost nothing - an increasingly-thin collar is the only survivor. Fruit-forward aroma: in decreasing order, I'm getting pear, white grape and elderflower. Smells sugary, like grape juice, without many sour-like characteristics.

That carries over into the flavour profile - you do get a flash of tartness at the start, as well as some very low-level lactic funk in the aftertaste, but it's not exactly a driving force. That leaves plenty of space for the three fruits to stretch themselves out (and frankly, there's not much else going on). Juicy, ripe pear and elderflower are more noticeable early on, with white grape and lemon developing later. Sweet elderflower aftertaste with a faint funk that doesn't last; trends dry. Light in body, with moderately low carbonation that gently tickles the tongue during each sip. Easy enough to drink, but probably not compelling enough to be worth a recommendation.

Final Grade: 3.58, a B grade. Lost in the Zone Pt. 2 is not as good as Part 1 (raspberry & ginger). It could be argued that the fruits in Part 2 are complementary with one another, and I wouldn't disagree. However, they're also sweet fruits, first and foremost - and since the Lost in the Zone base sour isn't actually all that acidic, this drinks more like a sweet fruit beer than a sour. It's palatable in its own way - I like pears, and you don't see pear beer all that often, so I might be going a little easy on this one. Still, if you're craving something sour & tart, I'd look elsewhere.
