easily one of the lightest of these ive had, really well made, great fall drinker while the weather is still nice, and among my favorites from our time here. nice honey golden tone on it, good clarity, and an appropriately frothy high white head indicative of a nice mug of german lager. the aroma is bready and biscuity, lighter than most marzen types for sure, mineral forward and basic in a good way, quintessentially german, with some old world lager yeast coming through too, great water chemistry is obvious, the hops are herbal and noble but also well restrained, and all the key elements are here, fresh, and in great proportion. the flavor is right there with the nose, tidy and vibrant, grain driven but with timely contributions from the yeast and the hops, mostly later on, this has some pils character to it overall, and just a touch of mid palate sweetness that beef it up ever so slightly for the season. they also had an excellent traditional oktoberfest in here, but for drinkability and simplicity, this one took the cake for me. ideal for a sunny patio afternoon, live music out there at the brewery, wonderful facility they have here, easy place to pass the time. this is excellent lager.
