On tap. Dark pour, huge frothy head in my dimple mug. Lots of roast and cocoa. Just a tad of maybe too much sweetness, but I was digging it. Probably the best dark lager I’ve had. Just delicious.

Poured from 16oz can into a dimpled mug. Canned 1/5/26.
Appearance: rich dark-brown hue with what appears to be a pretty hazy-free body and a thick, thick head of frothy tan foam atop.
Smell: malt is quite caramelly with a hint of chocolate, and a rather pronounced yeasty character. It's quite nice.
Taste: toasty, caramelly, and yeasty: all the things a Czech dark lager should be. If anything, maybe the yeastiness could be pared back a bit, but still it's quite good. Actually, I am finding now that as it warms up, the sweetness comes out just a little bit more and it really brings it all together -- really solid.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: a pretty solid Czech dark lager. Especially after it warmed up just a little, it comes out as very balanced and nuanced.

Dark pour with thick head. Very nice looking. Smell is chocolate, herbs and a bit of smoke. Taste follows with a roasty / coffee element. Decently bitter on the back end. Feels light and creamy, medium carb. An excellent beer and one I would certainly buy again.

Look: Very dark brown with a billowing three fingers of mocha colored foam.
Smell: Baker’s chocolate, cocoa powder, black bread.
Taste: More of that black bread. Dark chocolate. Caramel.
Feel: Very creamy.
Overall: Just delightful. Probably my favorite beer from Human Robot’s regular stable of beers.

Poured into Lolo Peak Belgian-style tulip
P beatiful deep mahogany w/ a 1f creamy khaki head; looks great
N soft-med; light roast, toffee, and grassy notes
T blend of toastiness/light roast, light cocoa, with a grassy sharp-ish earthy finish; a touch of yeast as well; lingers a bit; not too shabby; gets more cohesive/less sharp in the finish as it warms
Mf med-bodied; lightly creamy; med to med-high carb; supports the profile well
O a pleasant drinker, especially once it opens up

From a 16oz can, no date on the can.
This beer is very clear looking and a nice dark amber color. The head is just insane at 4 fingers and tan colored. The head retention is great and I am liking the lacing on the glass.
The nose has notes of malts and roasted caramel. There's a light smoke on the nose also.
Taste - The beer is malty. I get a ton of caramel in the flavor. There's a slight hint of smoke in the beer which adds to the caramel in a pleasing way.
The body is slightly bubbly. Smooth feeling. Nice depth to the feeling.
Very tasty beer and a pleasure to try. Very well made.

16oz can received as a gift from a friend. Human Robot sells 4-packs directly for $16. This was canned on 10/19/23, so it's 14 1/2 months old.
Look: Medium to dark brown color with more clarity/transparency than expected. The tan-colored head was very frothy and thick upon pouring; it was initially two to three fingers tall and reduced to a thin layer with nice lacing. Most of the other Czech Dark Lagers that I have had are darker in color than this one with more black notes.
Smell: Nice malty aromas with rustic toasted dark rye or pumpernickel bread crust and perhaps a bit of sourdough. I also get a good amount of spice including anise and some clove. Secondary aroma of coffee and cocoa powder (mocha). Mild raisin aroma. Smells nice.
Taste: It's really smooth, nutty, and drinkable. Very balanced. Up front, it has lovely toasty and nutty notes of chestnuts, hazelnuts, and walnuts along with some coffee and dark chocolate. The finish is dry with a gentle yet firm, tempered bitterness that has earthy, spicy and peppery notes. Nice roasted malt bitterness/dryness on the finish as well. A bit of charcoal and tobacco lingering on the finish also.
Feel: The beer is so easy to drink and it is very light on the palate. I would say that it is medium bodied. The carbonation is appropriate.
Overall: It's a really tasty beer. I haven't had so many Czech Dark Lagers, and this one seems like an authentic version. No surprise to see Human Robot crush it according to the style once again. Really delicious. Kudos to HR!

Had on side pull tap. Pitch brown opaque body with a full khaki head with tons of thick lacing. Smells of roasted malts, cocoa, charred earth and brown bread. Tastes of roasted malt, dutch processed cocoa, char flakes, earth, and brown bread, but melding is limited. Feel is roasty and heavier in a full and chewy way.

Pours a chill hazed cola/mahogany color with 3 fingers of fluffy tan head. Very good head retention, better lacing
S: Roasty, brown bread, some molasses
T: Follows the nose, a touch of molasses, smokiness & charred grain along with woody hops, slight bite of Baker's Chocolate as well up front. Some dark bread/rye notes, a little woody hops, smokiness, a little dryness & more Baker's Chocolate & pine as this beer warms. Finishes dry, piney, a little brown bread & some peppery rye. a trace of Anise
MF: Medium body, fairly firm carbonation
Beautiful Dark Czech Lager, not perfect; but damn near. Sooo drinkable
