Notes via stream of consciousness: This is a "Brazilian coffee stout aged on Amburana wood" at 13.5% ABV. It's an opaque black beneath a short head of creamy dark tan foam. The aroma suggests sweet coffee with a light roastiness, some spiciness, and
The flavor is sweet and fruity, spicy with cinnamon and green cardamom, woody, and gently roasty and chocolatey with brown sugar sweetened cold brew and Hershey's sweet dark chocolate. There's some light acidity to it, probably from the dark malts, and along with the spiciness it finishes mostly dry. It's sweet for sure, but it's not sticky or cloying; besides, I don't think this is the kind of beer that you work through quickly. There's not a lot of bitterness to it although it's there. Maybe it's just hard to tell how bitter it is given the wall of sweet malt that blocks it in. It does come out in the finish once the sugars, spices, fruitiness, and woodinesshave passed. This is definitely a sipping beer for after dinner on a cold night, or perhaps a dessert beer with some tres leches cake. In fact, now that I think of it, there is a kind of vanilla note to it. It has a kind of birthday cake flavor to it. Moving on, the body is medium-full and it's smooth and creamy across the palate with a moderate carbonation level. The head held up pretty well initially but it eventually dropped to a standard collar. The lacing was pretty good upfront but once the head dropped that was about it; there are some spots and streaks but they're thin. I wouldn't expect great head retention and lacing from a beer of 13.5% despite the residual sugar so I'm going to say it's actually pretty good. I find it quite interesting, and very unusual. I've had these kind of breakfast stouts before, or whatever you want to call them, but nothing exactly like this. And of course I loved those as well! I certainly wouldn't drink this on a regular basis but having a 4-pack at the back of the fridge during fall and winter seems like a good idea.

Pours a plum-hued very dark brown with a finger of tan head that quickly settles into a film-like cap and clingy ring at the edges. Messy lacing.
Quality dark-roast coffee, chocolate, dark fruit, soy and cinnamon in the nose.
Tons of silky chocolate milk, a touch of dark fruit and strong cinnamon in the taste.
Really silky, creamy feel, too, with soft carbonation.
This one’s very chocolatey with a strong, but not overpowering, amburana character. The coffee seems great in the nose, but is overpowered in the taste.
