West Coast Pils - Brewed in collaboration with HVG (German Hop Growers co-op) and BSG (Brewer’s Supply Group). Brewed and dry hopped with German hop varieties Tango and Callista. These hops give modern citrus and passionfruit aromas, with an undercurrent of berries. A single decoction with Weyermann pils malt gives a dry profile to let the hops shine.

16oz can purchased from the fridge as a single for $4.49 plus tax. Canned on 03/18/2024, so this is just over 4 months old.
Look: It's pretty pale (light to medium straw color) and pretty clear (just the slightest amount of haze). There was a rocky whitish head upon pouring, but it dissipated to a very thin layer.
Smell: It has a nice aroma of slightly floral and citrusy/fruity hops and a bit of pepperiness, herbal notes, and pine. A bit grassy too. Fresh. It kind of smells like a West Coast Pale Ale does, but not as intense and there is much more of a light, floral hop profile here. I guess that I pick up some subtle Pilsner malt characteristics with light, crackery, saltine type flavors.
Taste: It's very refreshing and super drinkable. I'm still trying to figure out the "West Coast Pils" style. Up front, it has light floral notes and nice citrusy flavors (orange zest and grapefruit rind) with just the slightest hint of juiciness. Towards the end of the glass, I'm picking up on the berry characteristics that were described in the tasting notes (it has light raspberry and subtle blueberry notes on the finish). The finish is super dry, peppery, crisp, and minerally. It has a mild to moderately bitter finish that doesn't linger on for too long. I guess that it is has a similar flavor profile to a West Coast IPA or Pale Ale that removes much of the piney-ness, bitterness, and maltiness. It's different, and I do like it.
Feel: It's relatively light bodied. The beer is highly hopped, so I think that while the malt bill is simple and minimalistic, the beer does have a bit of an oily and thicker body due to the super hoppy characteristics.
Overall: This is my first "West Coast Pils" and I must say that it's a very tasty and very interesting style. It's a very interesting beer because this basically tastes similar to a Cold IPA in that it's very hop-forward and relatively light in body and malt profile. Yet it's a pilsner lager, not an ale. Human Robot does it again; they make super tasty beers (especially lagers) and this one is no exception. I look forward to trying other West Coast Pilsners from other breweries.

Pours a bright & effervescent gold with 2 fingers of pearl colored head. Great head retention & lacing
S: Light breadyness, perfumy hops, not a lot of nose
T: Dryness, grassyness, a touch of grapefruit & bready sweetness up front. Grassyness, dryness & a little bit of lemon as this beer warms up. Finishes grassy & dry, with a slight sweetness, a little bit of bitter citrus
MF: Medium body, fairly form carbonation, good balance
Solid Pils, fairly easy to drink, nose was meh

Appearance - The beer was golden yellow in color with visible carbonation and a white head.
Smell - The hops were evident in the nose, accompanied by citrus.
Taste - The beer had bright grapefruit/citrus bitterness at the front. Green grass and lemon follow. Amid the strong, hot profile, the crispiness of a Pilsner was still evident. Citrus notes lingered in the finish.
Mouthfeel - After the pour, the carbonation faded quickly. It’s still had some ability to linger.
Overall - This was really tasty.

16 oz can
pours a light straw yellow color, thick foamy white head. good head retention. Definitely more of a modern hop aroma - I get a lot of berry , just a little citrus. Taste is similar - mild pilsner malt and a fruitness that provides a perceived sweetness. Longer finish than most of HR's pilsners. thinner bodied, but has a soft mouthfeel
