In 1841 a new pale malt was developed by an enterprising Austrian brewer, and Vienna lager was born. For Rattan, the finest floor malted Vienna malt makes up 100% of the bill. A double decoction mash and the best Saaz hops we can find are combined with our Czech style fermentation schedule to make a light, toasty lager that we hope pays homage to the original “king of beer” Anton Jr.

Hazed copper with a gorgeous cream-colored head. Solid retention and sheets of lacing. Kiss of sweetness and toasty malt in the nose. Lightly sweet, bready flavor up front in the taste. Nice sharp bitter finish. Medium bodied with pillowy carbonation. Very tasty.
