Attic Brewing Co. "Solar Song"
16 fl. oz. can without production codes or freshness dating
$5 at the brewery on 11 September 2021
Look: Murky golden body benath a full-sized cap of just slightly yellowed white foam. The head retention and lacing are above average but not quite "very good".
Smell: Rich and bright with resins and fruit. Notes include tangerine, melon, lemon-lime, cannabis, and pineapple.
Taste: Loaded with the same hops found in the nose. Additional notes include some mint, cedar, peach, coconut, black tea, and bergamot as well. It's really quite intense! The malt is basic although there's a little something going on in there (it's not just 2-row base, oats, and wheat), and the bitterness is quite firm. The finish is dry, earthy, herbal, and just a touch spicy.
Feel: Medium bodied and gently crisp. Smooth.
Overall: Quite a tasty, unique, and enjoyable NEIPA. The notes of coconut, cedar, cannabis, and mint keep it interesting.
