Attic Brewing Co. "Stratacat"
16 fl. oz. can without production codes or freshness dating
$5 at the brewery on 11 September 2021
Look: Very cloudy golden body benath an inch of white foam. The head retention and lacing are both very good, and the glass is wrapped in a wide rings of fairly solid lace.
Smell: Sweetish malt combines with hop resins and notes of strawberry, passionfruit, and citrus. It's not the brightest aroma but you certainly won't miss it.
Taste: As the aroma suggests it will be with even stronger notes of strawberry and passionfruit, as well as some orange. The less descript citrus and "dank" resins back that up. The malt is straightforward, and the bitterness is moderate but stiff. If finishes easy with a soft bitterness, soft resins, and delicate fruit.
Feel: Medium-light in body and crisp but smooth across the palate due to all of the extra proteins from what seems like mainly oats.
Overall: Stratacat is an easy to drink, refreshing, and delicate but complex NEIPA that matches some of the best in the nation.
