Attic Brewing Co. "Funktoberfest"
16 fl. oz. can without production codes or freshness dating
$4.50 at the brewery on 11 September 2021
Notes via stream of consciousness: It's poured a clear amber colored body beneath an inch and a quarter of white foam that has unfortunately already dwindled down into just a thin collar and whispy surface covering. The aroma is completely clean and reveals just a bit of grainy malt. The flavor shows that the malt is richer than that, but not over-done. It's bready and toasty, just as it should be. There's a little bit of floral and mildy herbal hop flavor to it but not much. A median bitterness balances it perfectly, and despite the maltiness it finishes moderately dry with just a dollop of honey-like malt left fading away. Overall I'll say it's nicely balanced and rounded. In the mouth it's medium-full in body and crisp. It's unfortunate that the head retention is limited because it left no lacing, and that brings down its score.
