We named this Belgian “quad” after Pitouchi the cat, who was adopted in the trenches by a Belgian officer during World War I. A complex balance of sweet, bready malts, dark fruit esters, and that Belgian Ale spice...this beautiful dark ale finishes perfectly smooth, dry, and delicate with just a slight bit of alcohol warmth.

Poured into a Mad Elf goblet: color is amber, not transparent but not dense, head is light amber-tan with fine bubbles, head dissipates quickly to nothing, no lacing, no top.

Smell is sweet malt with notes of cherry, raisin, aged sugar.

Taste is similar with sweet malt with cherry, raisin, plum, candied sugar, some light booziness but really well hidden.

Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, moderate/strong sweetness, low/moderate bitterness; lingering sweetness and light drying.

Overall a belgian strong dark ale that lives up to the style - sweet, dark, aged fruit, hidden strength.
