This year’s Barleywine was aged 12 months in Kinsey bourbon barrels. It’s sweet with a smooth bourbon character that blends perfectly with its malty backbone. Notes of caramel, toast, brown sugar, and beautiful bourbon.

Pours a ruddy amber-brown with a thin tan head that quickly fizzes away into a modest wisp and crown. No lacing.
Leather, vanilla, raisin and fig in the nose.
Nice caramel, sherry, fig and pear in the taste, with moderate alcohol, and a dry, leathery, earthy, stale hop finish.
Medium to full bodied, sticky and creamy feeling, with lively carbonation.
A very tasty beverage, with more restrained, old world flavors than many barrel-aged barleywines these days.

16 oz can, no date but picked up at the brewery a few months ago
Pours a clear medium brown color with amber highlights. Thin head that fades. Aroma of rich caramel and boozy bourbon. Similar taste but not overly sweet. Great depth of flavor. Sticky mouthfeel. Overall very good.
