Premium malts and Saaz hops

For this beer, we carefully selected a complex grain bill in thoughtful proportions to create a balanced beer with great depth of flavor while maintaining excellent drinkability. We also paid great attention to the water profile to compliment the malt bill. This is a beer of patience, where extended tank time allowed the beer to develop and round out the final flavor profile.

S'alright for style, picked up at Beers On Wall. Sweet syrupy stuff, so its quaffable, but not a serious contender. Dark, still well carbonated from 9 months ago.

Bought from Binny's Lincoln Park build-your-own-4-pack shelf. Canned 1/24. Appears to be the second release.
But my copy is much different than the other Poo-Bah reviews below, all from the first release in 1/23.
So I'm not going to quibble with my Poo-Bah brethren. But we are obligated to review as we sense it.

BB's Czech Dark Looks quite average: cola, foam that goes the way of cola rapidly and no lace. Smells are mostly malt; but Tastes offer some complexity in the malt bill and all is well-balanced and finishes clean and slightly dry. Light-mouthed but bubbly enough to eat with my BBQ burger.

Only my second from BB. In my first review three years ago, I suggested that this two year old needed a better website to announce its presence to the world... or at least Mokena. In the interim, some fancy stuff was added to the site and they seem to be working the outer-space theme. But as a five year old, they should tell us more about them and why their taproom is cool for the community. So Mokena, get with the micro-movement and get into BB.

Canned 12/6/22; drank 2/7/23 @ the Yarchives.

Mostly see-through brown/orange appearance.

A rough pour yielded a big khaki head; a thick curtain of lace.

Burnt caramel, acorn & cream notes in the nose.

Medium thick, creamy mouthfeel.

Acorn, cream & faint burnt caramel.

Kind of mild and heavy; decent, though.

Dark brown cola tone with good clarity, thin cap of tan foam, a few arcs of lacing around the glass.

Aroma has some depth, roasty black malt, mild caramelization, savory toastiness.

Similar flavors of toasted dark bread crusts, multigrain, carob, charred raisins. Clean dry finish with a pleasant malty aftertaste. Nice depth again.

Feel is relatively soft, carb is somewhat low, light carbonic bite. Pretty easy drinking.

Overall it’s nice and i’d buy it again. Could use a little more carb, but a supple lager is nice too.

Pours a light brown color. Excellent clarity. Thick khaki colored head forms on the beer, lingers a moment, then dissipates. Aroma has notes of rye, bready malts, spicy saaz hops. Taste follows the nose with notes of bread, rye bread, nutty malts and some cocoa giving way to a slight hoppy finish with the saaz hops. Feel is light, crisp, easy drinking. Moderate carbonation.

This is quite nice - very enjoyable, well done and impressive. I will be looking for more from Brothership in the future.
