A: Pours a dark brown, nearly black color. A small beige head forms and recedes to a ring that sticks throughout. Light lace is left behind.
S: Big roasted malts are the show here. Coffee seems dominate.
T: All roasted malts again. Becomes coffee centric, and a bit acrid. A bitter roast finish.
M/O: A light body with effervescent carbonation, and finishes very dry. Not my favorite version of the style, but it is good to drink. I can for sure come back to this for a session.
I do like this, its a true low ABV session. Though has more in common with a Brown Porter than a Dark Mild, I guess that is just my quibbles, but traditional Dark Mild isn't usually this roasted. Though, that seems to be more a US thing. Regardless, its still an enjoyable if overly simplistic version of a light porter/stout/mild.
