5/30/23 can from the Kreog in Rhinebeck, NY. Pours a hazy pale sunshine gold with a finger of creamy white head that’s sticks around, nice lacing; smell is sticky overripe pineapple, orange slices, herbal pine/mint, sour blueberry, hint of dank herb; taste follows with pineapple flesh, zesty orange flesh, tropical fruit juice, herbaceous pithy finish; feel is medium bodied, creamy carbonation, dry mild hop burn finish. A pineapple, citrus, and herbal beauty.

4/28/23 Batch! Sweet, old-school tropical hoppy, slightly malty, and an overripe fruity-citrus nose on this one! Taste follows with those sweet malts upfront...and then an almost hidden tropical hoppy bitter finish. The maltiness is overdone with this one IMO...it almost smothers out any discernible hop expression. It doesn't look the prettiest either. This is the first Fidens miss (out of many!) for me...

Grabbed a few cans at Churchkey /Fidens can release.
Poured a nice hazy slightly muddy gold, but had a beautiful plumy head and excellent lacing. Nice white halo hangs around throughout.
Nose is somewhat restrained but pushes the Simcoe. Taste follows with musky Simcoe, mild to mod dank and only a bit of fruit. A bit old school, but very tasty. Body is a nice medium smoothness accented by an equally medium carbonation. Nice mix that works for this DIPA.
Overall a very nice smooth drinking Simcoe forward DIPA. Nothing really new but certainly enjoyable.

Canned on 2/2/22; consumed on 2/15/22
Pours an opaque, glossy, sunflower-orange body topped with a finger and a half of creamy, off-white foam; solid head retention leaves a paper-thin veil of cap, a large, frothy collar, an a generous array of chunky, webby lacing spread across the walls of the glass.
Aroma opens to a catty twang and overripe pineapple before bursting with waves of peach rings, lime candy, and fresh mango slices coursing across the bouquet, with apricot zest trailing into mossy hop undertones for a rounded exemplification of dank, spicy, tropical resins from start to finish.
Taste features pineapple and mango peel upfront, steadily developing nuances of lime jam and musty nectarine over the mid-palate, with subtle catty notes lingering as dank papaya finds an earthy/citric balance of resinous, dew-soaked moss and tangerine zest on the finish.
Mouthfeel offers a medium body with a subtle, moderate carbonation, presenting slick resins atop an underlying flaky crispness into the mid-palate; delicate textures maintain as a juicy character builds into the back end, an earthy grit interwoven to a largely clean finish with minimal bittering.
Simcoe eccentricities self-moderate to boggier interludes bringing unique nuance to the predominant deluge of tropical saturation, wavering between ripe and dank characteristics for a clean presentation of a profile all its own; both ambitious and thoughtfully executed in its entirety.
