Canned on 2/16/22; consumed on 3/7/22
Pours a turbid, milky straw-gold body capped with numerous fingers of dense, creamy, white foam; good head retention leaves a thin veil of cap, a slight, frothy collar tightly encircling the surface, and a generous, uniform spatter of firm, webby lacing spread across the walls of the glass.
Aromas open to creamy mango and an incorporative lime zest throughout, underscoring grassy hops behind shreds of tangerine zest into the middle; melon rind edges into the back end as a wet florality meets a pseudo-tropical ultra-stank washed over with semi-sweet resins on the close.
Taste shows juicy clementine upfront before phasing in waxy white grape peaking with dank gooseberry over the mid-palate, while resinous guava glosses across the back end with a saturated, bready-malt stank amplifying levels of an already established dankness to a higher, comprehensive potency over the finish.
Mouthfeel brings a medium-full body with fluffy, moderate carbonation and dense, creamy textures balanced with a level, mild prickle over the mid-palate; a distant bitterness is laden with resinous overtones on the back end into a juicy breakthrough peaking on the finish.
Overblown with myriad hop expression brilliantly intertwined with threads of delicate malt, this NEIPA is stunningly comprehensive, detailed yet composed at the convergent apex of brazen intensity and calculated execution; an ultimate example of restrained hop excesses, exceedingly drinkable and entirely complex.
