Canned on 9/28/22; consumed on 10/7/22
Pours a turbid, milky straw-gold body capped with multiple fingers of rich, creamy, white foam; good head retention leaves a finger and a half of silky cap, expansive, frothy collar, and extensive layering of chunky, soapy webs of lacing strewn across the walls of the glass.
Aromas of passionfruit and lime upfront balance a dank overlay into creamed orange, with deepening hints of peach compote fading into sweaty resins over time.
Taste offers dank resins and wet moss brightened by pineapple and a glossy tangerine backing; creamed peach through the mid-palate sees more citric leanings of orange zest and grapefruit into the back end, while a discerning note of underripe guava finishes.
Mouthfeel brings a medium-full body with a moderate carbonation; a pseudo-hop twang eases to lightly prickly resins over the mid-palate, seeing juicy overtones contrast a distant bittering as mild creaminess dries calmly through the finish.
A rising dank progressively deepens, imparting creamy resins across a saturated fruit amalgam and light, grassy underscore, with a level of always-attenuated sweetness continuing to set Fidens at the highest tier of NEIPA producers.
