Canned on 1/3/23; consumed on 1/25/23
Pours a turbid, milky pale gold body capped with over two fingers of dense, fluffy, white foam; solid head retention leaves a paper-thin layer of cap, moderate, frothy collar, and haphazard spatter of soapy, webby/spotty lacing strewn across the walls of the glass.
Aromas of creamed peach waft into a lime compote underscore, peaking with fresh guava sorbet toward mustier tones of faded jackfruit against hints of wet moss on the back end of the bouquet.
Taste brings peach, creamy mango, and contrastingly fuzzy apricot upfront into passionfruit zest and a slight grapefruit edge through the mid-palate, easing to mild, mossy undertones as a white grape dank fades through the back end and swampy lime resins linger on the finish.
Mouthfeel features a body on the fuller end of medium and a moderate spritz of carbonation, levying creamy overtones into a clean, pseudo-bitterness lingering delicately past the mid-palate as sensations of boggy resins trickle into the back end with a juicy peak toward the finish.
While supremely attenuated and with ample, (if sporadic) richness of hop saturation, this one falls just short of the maintained burst Fidens TIPAs have become known for; still, only a minor critique of an otherwise roundedly excellent take on the style.
