Canned on 3/8/24; consumed on 4/10/24
Pours a clear, lemon-gold body topped with two fingers of thick, fluffy, eggshell-white foam; good head retention leaves a slim cap, modest, frothy collar, and myriad spattering of webby/spotty lacing distributed haphazardly around the walls of the glass.
Aromas open resinous and grassy, with a touch of dankness engaging a white grape imbuement as the sweetness of overripe guava takes hold and a boggy stank wafts throughout the bouquet intermittently.
Taste brings guava and boggy moss contrasts upfront, with grapefruit edges marking the mid-palate into underripe pineapple and flaky malt subtext on the back end of the profile.
Mouthfeel offers a medium-light body and a modest, rounded fluff of carbonation, producing a crisp, flaky texturing, taut over the mid-palate into a bright back end; a resinous glide supports a distant, mild bittering before fading to a clean finish.
Clean, rounded, and deftly dank, this more classic American IPA finds welcome tinges of semi-sweetness to balance the traditional, overarching bitterness; an airy, effortless pour.
