a tasty and clean mexican lager, i still cant believe we dont have a separate category for that here on BA, this isnt a vienna lager, maybe closest to a euro one, never sure what to add these as without that designation here. in any event, this is excellent beer, these guys are doing a really nice job with quality. yellow and bright in the glass, clear and sunny looking, adorned with a wedge of lime on the rim as well, although its unneeded. its distinctive and good, very light, but the corn is obvious in here, a little earthy sweetness through it, and the mexican lager strain adds a lot of flavor. maybe this isnt quite as crisp and dry as the best of them, but its plenty drinkable and refreshing. i like the mineral profile coming through here, like the water chemistry is just right, and while there is no lime in it, the lime on the rim adds a summery almost vacation vibe, the beer seems to have at least some of that even without the lime too, it stands just fine on its own, light but flavorful. good carbonation, nice malt complexion, and a good lagered feel. solid beer, especially as it turns into spring here. nicely done.
edit: almost five years later this seemed even better refined this time, easy and floral, still corn driven, simple but tidy, increasing the overall score slightly, this seems like a lead brand for them at this point, and rightly so, rather professional overall, easy down but not at all boring, well done.
