Last Ember is an English-style porter brewed with just a kiss of Cherrywood smoked malt. Smoked beers, rare now, were much more common before kilning technology advanced to where it is today. Back then, drying malt under an open flame where the smoke would impart a flavor wasn't unusual. English porters tend to have a little lower ABV, and are softer and sweeter than other Porters. This melds well with just a little Cherrywood smoked malt to create a tobacco
and burnt sugar flavor. This beer would pair well with roasted meats and hearty vegetables
