"Cold Hard Pitch" Cold IPA
Last month, we hosted women from the beer industry to brew this new style using the Pink Boots blend of hops. The Pink Boots Society is a program whose mission is to make the beer industry more inclusive through education. We used the blend to make a newer style, Cold IPA, that utilizes adjuncts (rice or corn in this case), and lager yeast to brew a base beer that is a canvas for hops. We performed a cereal cook with corn meal, and utilized Montana 2-row making a crisp, bright beer. Cold IPA is the antithesis of a NEIPA, and lower in ABV, it is immensely drinkable. "Pitch" refers to one of the last parts of a brew day. Once you've made wort, you add yeast or, as brewers say, you 'pitch yeast'
ABV 5.9% IBU 45
