The second canning run of our ESB, f.k.a. “People Power”, now available under its evergreen name and label. English pub-style ale with biscuity, complex malty notes countered with earthy, resiny hops. Medium body & bready flavors highlighted by fruity ester accents; soft bittersweet finish. Tasting notes include raisin bread, blueberry pancakes and honey-roasted nuts.

The pour is a dark bronze color. The taste is brown bread crust, grains, toasted nuts, & caramel. Cheers! A-

Clear, amber color. Big, off-white head. Malt, nuts, flowers, and caramel in the aroma. Malty, moderately sweet taste with a touch of minerals at the end.. Soft and easy to drink.

Served in a clear pint glass, drawn from a cask by a hand pump, came the serving. It's as pretty as a beer can be. Its color is brown-amber and with a perfect head of about half an inch, off-white, with just a tint of the brew's color. It smells just like a Bitter should, a little malt forward, backed by mild hops. It tastes just like a proper Bitter should, malt forward, with just the right amount of hoppy bitterness. This is one full-flavored Bitter, with an earthy finish that's wonderful. Carbonated only by fermentation and not from a carbon dioxide component, this is soft, smooth and almost too easy going down. The body is full without being thick. Copious glass lacing attests to that. Some may be used to a more carbonated beverage and find this mouthfeel odd for a beer. But, lovers of traditional English beers should love it.
Updated: A serving from a tap, propelled by nitro, wasn't quite as good. Probably would have every category reduced by .25 points. But, a second episode with the cask/hand pump version keeps the original ratings at the same high mark.

Some murkiness to the otherwise clear body, huge foamy head and thick lacing all over. Citrus hops with accompanying peach, mild English yeast, pale malt backbone for nose. Taste add a hit of sulfur to the English airy yeast, hops are simpler with just citrus especially orange, floral tones on the finish with a pale malt lightly there. Feel is smooth and light, mild bitter and soft dry yeast are pleasantly sessionable

On cask at Wild East Brewing Company in Brooklyn, NY.

This one pours a nice cascading and pretty looking amber color, with a small head, and a bit of lacing.

This smells earthy, resinous, and slightly spicy, and biscuity hops.

I love a brewery that has beer available on cask, and even moreso a brewery that does it well. This has a nice little spicy and resinous hop character, with a soft biscuity and malty sweetness, with a pleasant graininess to it.

This is medium bodied, creamy, and pretty soft, with a great drinkability.

I could drink a couple of these real easily, with no problem at all.

A good English Pale Ale!! Poured from a 16 oz can into a pint glass, this beer starts out a clear light copper color and becomes somewhat more hazy and a bit darker on subsequent pours. Aroma and taste include plenty of slightly sweet, biscuity malt and a herbal, nutty quality. There is slight bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel is moderately light and crisp with just a hint of bitterness. A great session-type beer.

Pours an opaque orange red, 1" soft head that fades pretty quick to a thin ring, no lacing. Nose pre-pour is red apple; biscuit, melba toast, red apple, black pepper, allspice as it develops. Taste leads on the sweet side, lightly toasted caramel, fruity black pepper, before a slightly bitter/spicy turn and a biscuity finish. Carbonation is prickly with very bubbles, medium weight. Overall, a solid beer and love to see this style get some more attention; would also be great to have this on cask.
