On draught at Wild East Brewing Co, Brooklyn.
For a pale ale, it pours on the darker side, yet, it’s amber color conforms to the Belgian style Pale Ale. A moderate foam head retains well and displays lacing.
The nose opens cleanly, then, with notes of bready malt, sourdough biscuit and lemon. Fruity aromas of peach and pear pair with floral, grassy and notes of tea leaves.
A bready and biscuity malt base, also displays notes of dry cracker. Aptly spiced with herbal and peppery notes of grass, tea leaves and floral/earthy hops. The hops bitterness is moderate to slightly assertive. Notes of fruity esters, and hops, evoke notes of peach, pear, grapefruit and lemon.
Light bodied with a nice clean and crisp finish. The mouthfeel is in between crisp and smooth. The carbonation is moderate to lively.
Nice example of a Belgian Pale Ale. Artfully crafted, well balanced and crushable. I would have again.
