Owl Farm 10th Anniversary collaboration. A Munich-style dunkel brewed with a touch of smoked malt for enhanced complexity. Notes of bread crusts, pecan, and light caramel with subtle hints of chocolate. Smooth, easy-drinking and balanced.

Appearance: On draft into a tulip glass. Mahogany in color with a huge dirty tan pillowy foam head with lots of lacing.
Aroma: It smells exactly like the waxed canvas of a military surplus tent that has been in the vicinity of a few bonfires. As it warms up, the malty sweetness comes out.
Taste: Take some malt, toasted bread crust, and caramel but then smoke all three and add them to a quality lager that already has a little bit of hop spice.
Feel: Dry and thin with medium-low carbonation that flattened out sooner than exoected.
Overall: Lovely smoked lager. The flavor complexities were pleasantly received. Let it warm up slightly but don't let it sit too long.

On tap at The Owl Farm in Brooklyn, NY, apparently made for them.
This one pours a dark steely brown color, with a tight white head – it’s very attractive looking.
There’s a very slight and subtle smokiness on the nose, with pumpernickel and rye, and just in general, a super bready aroma.
The light tap of smokiness that this has is killer – a smoked dunkel could not be more geared to my palate currently. There’s a rustic breadiness to this, like rye or pumpernickel or something like that, with some more typical chocolate vibes. It’s just so toasty, like being around a campfire in Mid-October.
This is medium bodied, pretty creamy, and very drinkable.
Wild East makes some of the most accomplished lagers I’ve had in NYS – they really make beers that I just super want to drink.

On tap at the source
Softly smoky with a delicate woodsy smoke that complements the burnt wheat toast, light bread, deftly balanced bitter, earthy, spicy hops that complements the malt. A hair watery on the finish.
