mostly basic styles in here in their early going, but i was excited to see what i assumed would be a classic kolsch. its got all the makings of a decent beer, but it really didnt come together for me, super weird on the ferment, soapy like detergent and it almost has a melted plastic chemical thing to it, like when you leave the handle of a cheap pan over another burner thats on high and it starts to fill the house with this acrid toxic vapor, its kind of like that, but only on the finish and only after it warms up some, but i was definitely choking down my last few sips of this out of respect for one of the owner dudes who was to kind and friendly behind the bar when i was in. it got some german grain character, a reasonable texture, and a certain degree of ingredient authenticity it seems, but until they get the fermentation cleaned up a whole lot, this is one to steer clear of. after hearing about the brewers impressive formal education, i assumed i could trust this to be good, but its a miss. my least favorite of the beers i had in here by a considerable margin. i hope they get this fixed quick. fortunately they have a small system and can get another batch going soon. in need of work.
