a nice little porter here done with cold brewed coffee and milk sugar, the best of the three beers i had in here by leaps and bounds from a quality standpoint, and also the only one i would be real keen to drink again in its current form, although it seems apparent they are only getting better from here. this is tasty and balanced, lots of roast from the grain, not too heavy on the coffee, which seems somewhat mild in terms of its own roast, its the grain in front of the java for sure, but both are happy together in the aroma and flavor of this. i could do without the lactose, this is sweeter than i want it through the whole drink, but i notice it most in the finish, it almost turns the coffee into melted coffee ice cream, which sounds nice, and tastes fine, but not a volume thing for me, i would prefer this drier. it has less of their weird fermentation characteristics their other beers displayed too, which makes it seems a little more professionally done to me. nothing out of the ordinary here, but this is a tasty beer, medium on the coffee, a little desserty. i have high hopes for where these guys are going, but they arent quite there yet...
