At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From the Goyeau St. Food Basics in nearby downtown Windsor. Best before September 3/27. My 1st beer from the Montreal, Quebec brewery. Cleverly satisfying to Sundae the cat, with love...

Continuing my NON ALC beer streak.
Pours 1 finger of foam that dies down quick. Looks just like a regular beer. Doesn't really taste like a good beer, more like beer flavored soda water. Pretty easy to drink but won't get this one again with many other options available.

8 years ago the brews of sober carpenter brewing were decent. This one tastes, according to my wife, like colored water. I agree...The IPA is much better.

473 mL can from No Frills; coded LOT23079 and served slightly chilled.
Pours golden-blonde with fine sediment strewn throughout the liquid; it's capped with just over a finger of frothy, foamy white head that wilts down to a soapy collar and filmy cap within a few minutes. A quarter-inch ring of wavering lace is also left behind - lookin' good. It smells of doughy bread, biscuits, honey, floral hops and popcorn; a little on the sweet side, but inoffensive and appropriate for a blonde.
The flavour profile is very similar to the nose - grains, doughy bread and a light honey sweetness, with hints of floral hops and lemon on the back end. Flash of popcorn at the finish, fading to mineral water in the aftertaste. Light in body, with aggressive, soda-pop carbonation that relentlessly prickles the tongue and scrubs the palate with each sip. It's still highly drinkable, and honestly pretty good for what it is.
Final Grade: 3.68, a serviceable B grade. Sober Carpenter's Blonde actually does taste a lot like a real blonde ale - a very watery and slightly over-carbonated one, sure, but the flavours themselves aren't far off. I feel as if that's some of the highest praise I can bestow upon a near beer... at least, short of saying "it tastes like the real thing", which is an unrealistic expectation. I have been looking to cut back on my beer-calorie intake, so this solid NA offering is now under serious consideration, as is their Blanche/White.

Pours clear, light gold in color with one inch head. Taste is honey, toasted malt and grass. Light body, sweet with high carbonation. Nice and easy to drink lager. Nothing fancy but very enjoyable. My second favorite from these guys behind the white.
