Our 2022 blend of Barrel-aged Lumberjack Style spent 21 months in a blend of Weller and Taconic Double Maple Bourbon barrels before being conditioned on maple syrup and Indonesian Sumatra Pegasing Carbonic Maceration from our friends at Mostra Coffee.

2022 vintage (released on 5/11/2022, so presumably bottled within a few days of that date); consumed on 11/10/2022
Pours a plodding, viscous motor-oil black hue topped with a half-finger of silky, dark khaki foam; good head retention leaves a slight yet rich layer of cap, frothy, moderate collar, and the occasional web of soapy lacing holding persistently to the walls of the glass.
Aromas burst with roasty coffee accents ceding to a rich cocoa spectrum; milk and dark chocolate sport elevated heretofore elevated coffee aromatics, phasing sweet vanillins with a flowing bourbon edge to harmonize across the bouquet.
Taste offers layers of mocha throughout earthy maple cut with residual vanilla, a subtle cake batter laden with bourbon overtones through the mid-palate and delicately bittersweet roast espousing coffee nuance over the back end of the profile.
Mouthfeel brings a full body paired with a mild carbonation easing to creamy textures toward a silky peak; increasingly sticky, while a level roast balances to carry a moderate warmth into the finish.
A comprehensive, attentive array of adjuncts loads sweetness and roast in equal parts through a tumult of barrel warmth, leaving a breakfast synergy at the highest level; a stunningly attenuated and decadently adjuncted barrel-aged stout.

This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.
This smells like vanilla, chocolate chip cookie dough, spicy oak, maple syrup, dark fruit, and coffee.
This is tremendous stuff, very bold and vibrant, while not overwhelming with the adjuncts. It's still a great barrel aged stout at heart, with very good coffee character - gives off dark fruit, vanilla, and chocolate chips. There's just a hint of maple here, just enough sweetness to play off the coffee well.
This is pretty thick and creamy, but not syrupy, with a great drinkability for the style.
I don't know how well this will age, but I'm really digging it now. This is pretty exemplary.
