This one pours a dark-ish golden brown, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.
This smells like sweet and sticky caramel, with dark fruit, bourbon, and vanilla.
I’ve had three different waxed variants of barrel aged Maris so far, and while this is still quite good, it’s the least of the three I’ve had so far, between Gold Wax and Green Wax. It’s a bit sweeter and a bit thinner on the finish. There’s tons of sticky, and pretty sweet caramel, with toffee, and some chocolate, with a pleasant and distinct fruitiness.
This is creamy, and sticky sweet, with very little booziness to it.
While this isn’t near the top of the mountain for Timber, it’s still much better than most other breweries.

Sweet toffee bits and fudge, dark fruits, and an all-spice and vanilla bourbon barrel nose on this one! Taste follows with a viscous and velvety, caramel and toffee malty, hint of raisins, and a balanced oak-barrel bourbon boozy finish. This is so well done...hits all the notes that I want out of a barrel-aged barleywine. Fantastic!
