This pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.

This smells very chocolatey and fudgy, with spicy oak, fruit leather, caramel, and some vanilla.

This series is always good, and Timber continues to be one of the best barrel aged beer producers in the country. There’s a lot of barrel here, but the base stout is so fudgy and deeply chocolatey that it’s all very well balanced. There’s vanilla, dried fruit leather, raisin, and lots of oak from the barrel. There’s a little bit of spice but it’s not super boozy.

This is thick, but not syrupy, and well balanced for the style, with a really pleasant drinkability.

I wish I could afford to buy as many of Timber’s releases as I could hold in my apartment – they are consistently just high quality and prime level barrel aged beers.
