i like this brewery a lot and keep seeking out their stuff, but their hoppy beer has not wowed me so far, and this one doesnt either. its hazy and dense for its modest strength, it tastes plenty fresh from the tap but the hops are relatively uninteresting, and overall this seems of average quality, nothing about it really jumps out of the glass, and it seems so much less dialed in than their lagers and funky stuff have to me to this point. cloudy and thick looking, good inch of white head on it, slow fade, goo carbonation keeps it moving the whole time. it smells simcoe forward to me, that bitter citrus and pine sap complexion, perhaps overbalanced by some starchy malt, like its not sweet or anything, but the flavor of the grain kind of interrupts the hops, more of a pale ale in that regard to me. its fuller feeling too, surprising because the alcohol is low for the style, but this is filling even with the lively carbonation. i get an herbal character to the hops, as well as some almost noble spiciness, a little old school and a little modern, but somewhat muted to my senses. not quite perfectly clean on the ferment either, and i taste a little more from the yeast than i need to in a hazy like this. overall this is fine, even pretty good, but i know them to be capable of better, at least in other styles, and their hoppy beer continues to be at least a half step behind the rest of what they do...

Looks the part of haze. Lighter golden yellow body, hazy of course. Light grapefruit, papaya, bit of flour. Lighter bodied, just doesn’t come together too well for the style. Decent carbonation, mildly pithy bitterness on the finish.

The first two reviewers have pointed out that there isn't anything exceptional about this beer, but there isn't anything glaring or unpleasant about it either.
Pretty smooth drinking at what is starting to feel like a modest 5.8. I could see crushing a few of these on a hot day.

Well, "hazy" it is, close to murky. Dominant fruity aroama from a rapidly fading head. Taste is muted and one-dimensional. You get a blast of (again) fruit and not much else. Mild hop biterness and can't quite seem to stand up take ownership of the ole taste buds. VE has done better.

On tap at Claudia's sports put the other day.
The beer pours the expected hazy golden amber color with good head retention and lacing. On the nose this is pretty much all juice, as I get considerable pineapple, orange juice and mango. The flavor profile replicates the nose pretty well, though I thought there was a bit of astringency on the finish that wasn't too appealing. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and a tad thin, especially for a hazy IPA. On the finish I got a trace of bitterness and astringency, and the alcohol seemed pretty well integrated into the flavor profile.
Shrug. Another "dime a dozen" hazy IPA. It's fine for what it is, but this isn't a beer I'd go out of my way to find or obtain.
