We took our sour IPA base of raw wheat, malted oats, and lactose, and fermented it with several hundred pounds of strawberry puree. We then conditioned the beer atop fresh sliced rhubarb and whole madagascar vanilla beans, and dry hopped it with Citra, Azacca, and Cashmere hops.
The resulting beer is a study in the balance between sweet and sour. Much like the beloved pie featuring the same ingredients, this beer is jammy, tart, and delicious.
We're tasting sugar cookies slathered in fresh strawberry preserves, pink lemonade drink mix, and late summer custardy fruit tarts.

It’s odd, based on the description here it seems this was at one point (relatively recently?) this was a Sour IPA with strawberry and rhubarb (and a strawberry and passion fruit one based on an Untappd picture), but my can states cherry, lime, and Azacca hops. Why use the same name for what seems like different beers, or at least the same base with different adjuncts and hops? It’s confusing, but I won’t get too hung up on it, Drowned Lands makes some awesome Sour IPAs and I’m just goad to try another one. Let’s get into it
Pours a cloudy orange gold with 3 fingers of creamy off white head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
It’s quite sharp and green in the nose, almost a bit overwhelming. I’m picking up on aromas of sour cherry, mango skin, lime zest, passion fruit, crackery malt, earthy hops, grass, pithy grapefruit, and a hint of vanilla
Thankfully things smooth out a bit in taste, but it’s still a bit simplistic. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting cherry candy, lime juice, bready malt, mango skin, pineapple, juicy strawberry, grassy hops, and light vanilla. The swallow brings notes of cherry candy, jammy strawberry, mango skin, lime zest, crackery malt, vanilla, grassy hops, and light pineapple
A light medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a sharp beer. Finishes bone dry and refreshing
It’s certainly not my favorite from Drowned Lands but it’s still quite good

On tap at the Thirsty Moose in Merrimack
Pours a hazy bright orange color without much of a head when it gets to the table. Earthy tropical hop notes with some sweet bread lots of fruity character and a solid bit of lemony lactic sourness.

This was yet another beer that I traded for recently and took a while to get around to. Nice to have a Sour IPA given that many breweries don't attempt this style often and this indeed a balanced beer, though the sweetness was overt here and lacking a bit in sugar cookies and pink lemonade as was stated in it's description.
Plenty of radiant haze to this beer although it's hue was interesting - a strawberry blonde or moderate gold would be the beset way to describe this as it was topped off with more than enough head. That didn't translate into the lacing as only a few dots in the shape of a thin ring remained near the top of my pint glass, with a few more near the level of the liquid as I worked my way through this. Loads of strawberry, rhubarb, fruit patch, and deep pie tartness stood out in the nose as the taste was just as rustic, muddled, and subtly sweet underneath everything else. Slick with hints of pie crust, the mouthfeel was fine as the jammy thickness and dessert-like aspects of this beer emerged more in the back and the aftertaste.
I wasn't sure whether this was a Wild Ale or Sour IPA as this easily straddled the line between the two. The vanilla balanced out the thickness of the oats nicely as this was a balanced beer with light carbonation and a recessed hop presence. 7% ABV was perfect as all this was missing was a date on the bottom of the can. For a nightcap, this was lovely and could have used a bit more jam and sweetness to be great. As it was, this was a Wild Ale that was accessible as could be. Grab some accompanying tarts and finish your night off with this fun and relaxing brew!

Not sure what it is about the appearance of this beer, but I don't like it. Murky, muddled orange / brown with almost no head. Not sure how to rate to style, but I think it's pretty damn ugly. Aroma is exponentially better than the appearance. The vanilla is really nice, but not overpowering. Lurking beneath are some hops and the rhubarb / strawberry. Taste is also really nice. I pick up more of the strawberry and much less of the vanilla, but it still works well. Super easy to drink. I'd love to see just a tiny bit more carbonations, but overall, this is a beer I'd gladly drink more of.

Decanted from a 16 oz (473 ml) can into a Broken Bow Brewery sonic pint; no production date.
A: Pours a cloudy to opaque, dark orange (approaching brick orange) color with a nearly one finger, subtly pink head, solid rim retention and rather spotty bits of near lacing, mostly parameniscal.
S: Tart to the nose, but pleasantly so. Aromas almost exclusively fruity (orange, berry, and maybe pink grapefruit).
T: More semisweet than semidry and quite tart (without being mouth puckeringly). Flavors of orange, more strawberry and cranberry, and Pixie Stix® predominate.
M: Medium bodied with solid effervescence. Tingly on the palate and swallow.
O: Really an American Wild Ale more than an IPA (IMHO), but this is the first experience I have had with strawberry added to beer 1) that clearly added to the flavor palate without 2) any obvious off flavors. Kudos. I will try to get some more of this. Enjoyed it immensely after a tough work day.
