Purchased as a 6oz draft pour, poured into a half-pint glass from The Blue Door. Wrote this review on a napkin the other day when I tried it.
L - Clear & pitch black, with a one-finger dark tan head. Great lacing. Head remains the entire session.
S - Cocoa, coconut, and molasses. Vanilla & toffee.
T - Follows nose exactly. Getting notes of oat & plenty of coconut. On the sweeter end of things, but with a dry finish.
F - Full-bodied, with minimal carbonation. Warming. Dangerously drinkable; you can't really tell how strong it is!
O - Solid dessert stout. Not too big on the coconut, but it is objectively very good. Definitely worth a try. Will get again.

This was given to me as a gift from my buddy Drew as a recommendation because he knows I'm more of a stout guy:
L: Poured from a 16oz can into a snifter - motor oil black pour with 2-3 fingers of dark foam risen to the surface. Not much lacing left behind as the foam dissolves into liquid form.
S: Definitely getting the initial aroma of coconut followed by some thick lactose milky chocolate. Also getting some vanilla in the middle of the aroma. Would say Coconut, vanilla, milk chocolate is the order I smell this in.
T: Wow this is delicious. Getting that initial coconut flavor followed by the vanilla. You can really get that lactose/ cacao in the back end as it resembles milk chocolate. Gotta say this is a great beer.
F: Thinner then I expected but I like how it's not to thick. It's not thin - I'd definitely say it's about medium bodied. I'm guessing the lactose has a big role to play in this. Easy to sip on, ABV hides extremely well. Sips like a 6% easy.
O: This beer was an awesome coconut imperial. I definitely was expecting the coconut in this but didn't expect it as much as I got it. This beer I can agree with is imperial but I do feel it's borderline pastry if the body was any thicker. Great job to The Drowned Lands. I really enjoy this beer.

Despite being billed as a pastry stout, this brew comes across, if not exactly thin, then certainly not thick on the palate. Similarly, while it has a laundry list of additives (cacao, lactose, vanilla, and coconut), they're mostly complementary to the malt base, and don't stand out. The coconut, in particular, is barely noticeable.
I say all that to say that this is a very, very tasty beer. It's sweet, but not exactly a dessert stout. Everything comes together quite well. It's not what I expected from a pastry stout, but it was very enjoyable.

Poured from undated can into a pint glass. It pours a dark walnut color with a half finger of creamy, medium-mocha head and sheen of lacing. The smell offers roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, and vanilla cream. The taste opens with like a Mounds Bar with milk chocolate, caramel, and subtle coconut, along with oaty sweetness. The initial sweetness segues into burnt nutty char and hoppy bitterness. It's mouth feel is thick and creamy with low to moderate carbonation and a warming 9% ABV. This Stout is an ideal after dinner sipper. It would pair well with vanilla ice cream or a cannoli.

For fans of all things coconut, its just a medley of pastries: macaroons, coco knots, sno-ball cakes, melted almond joy swirl in a Dutch chocolate ice cream. Excellent balance between floral coconut, herbal vanilla and tropical chocolate; it's never too sweet. Full-med body, lactose smoothness amps up the decadence.

Tall can from the source earlier today...no dating info offered.
Great looking imperial stout kinda pour...dark dark brown, all sorts of dark mocha cap, froth, tiny bubble sheeting scattered to all parts of the glass.
Mocha, dark malts, chocolate, marsh mellows, vanilla, coconut all on the nose.
Super smooth/velvet on the tongue.
Deep and rich chocolate notes on the palate, as well as all the notes on the nose coming through. Lots of molten brownies, death by chocolate character to this one.....bring me some dessert to enjoy with this nectar.....great night capper
