473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Dec 20 2022 and served barely chilled.
Pours a hazy, translucent golden-amber colour, with nearly three fingers of puffy, foamy white head erupting from the surface. It recedes at a casual pace, eventually dropping down to a bumpy, half-inch cap of soapy suds - lots of beautiful lace deposition, too. It smells of lychee, white grapes, melon and papaya, with citrusy notes of grapefruit and orange, as well as a touch of bready, wheaty malts.
Fruity flavours of lychee, grape, passion fruit and melon come through during the juicy, fruity forefront, with mandarin orange and lime flavours developing by mid-sip. More citrus and tropical fruit into the finish, with mild hints of grassy, earthy hop bitterness cropping up briefly before a fruity, berry-like aftertaste; faintly discernible alcohol. Medium-full in body, with soft carbonation that weakly brushes against the surface of the tongue; feels smooth and a little slick, with average drinkability.
Final Grade: 3.68, a B grade. Helix Nebula is distinct from much of its Ontario competition: its flavours and aromas lean heavily towards berries & tropical fruit, while its very low bitterness allows these flavours to dominate the flavour profile. That being said, it's surprisingly sweet for an IPA, and that's not really what I want out of an IPA, hazy or otherwise. I'd drink this beer again without a fuss, and wouldn't discourage other BAs from giving it a shot, but I don't think it's an especially excellent example of the style.

I bought a can at the LCBO in Ontario 473ml at 7%.
Poured into glass with 1 finger head looked like an orange juice color.
Leaving a lace as you drink it.
Well balanced with sweet lemon zest tropical fruit flavours and a medium bitterness level.
Overall it's refreshing to drink goes down well maybe a little too sweet but I liked it.
Cheers

Bought this from his tap at Kitchener Oktoberfest 2022. Came out cool temperature but a bit low on carbonation. This was supposed to be a hoppy beer but any hoppiness was masked by the excessive sweetness. It had little aftertaste other than a constant sweetness that made it impossible to finish my draft.
