Medium amber colored body, mildly cloudy; thick, bone-white head, lumpy and creamy; sticky bits of foam cling to the glass. Light sense of malt on the nose; sweet and caramel-like; vague esters wafting in the background. Light caramel flavor with a semi-bold hop bitterness on the back-end. Medium body; sticky; rounded feel on the palate; a bit of dryness offsets the residual sugar feel.

A nice, simple ale.

Brewers Notes : The ESB root's in can be traced back to the Fuller's brewery in London UK, first brewed in 1969. Super Sonnet Bitter was brewed using simpsons Maris Otter, Premium Caramalts and hard Burtonized water. Bittered with whole leaf UK Target from Charles Faram & Co and hopped throughout the boil with more Charles Faram's EKG and Mystic. Whirlpool hoped with Yakima grown Sonnet from Virgil Gamache Farms. Sonnet Golding's origination is a cross of Czech Saaz and English Kent Golding hops, giving Sonnet English hop notes with an amplified American twist, subtle oak and honeysuckle note with a sweet meyer lemon citrus undertones.
