An over hopped German Pilsner brewed with 100% Weyermann Barke Pilsner malt, double decocted and lagered in white wine barrels. Hopped throughout the boil with German grown Hüll Melon and Saphir hops. Not your typical pilsner, eminent botanical aromas of rockmelon, lemongrass, and freesia. The rich pilsner malt and slight honey character balances the firm bitterness and subtle oak tannins. Dry, Bitter, Fun, Drinking Beer.

A: Pours a crystal clear medium yellow in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass and moderate pale golden yellow + bright yellow colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense sudsy foamy white head that slowly reduces to a large patch of medium thick film covering approximately 50% of the surface of the beer surrounded by a large patch of thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of bready + grainy + honey malts with a light amount of honey sweetness. Light to moderate aromas of herbal + grassy hops. Light aromas of lager yeast and a hint of vinous/white wine + oak notes.

T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of bready + grainy + honey malts with a light amount of honey sweetness. That is followed by a light flavor of lager yeast and a light amount of vinous/white wine + oak notes. Finally there are light to moderate flavors of herbal + grassy hops which impart a light amount of bitterness which slowly fades away leaving a relatively clean finish.

M: Just shy of medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Upfront there are light amounts of crispness followed by a slight creaminess and a clean slightly dry finish.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and an interesting mouthfeel - slightly creamy mid-body and softer/less crisp than your typical German Pilsner. Interesting flavors + aromas from the hop choice and the white wine barrel lagering.
