Mashed using German grown Pilsner and wheat malts, hopped throughout the boil with German grown Tettnang hops. After the boil was complete we gently pumped with hot wort into our coolship which was packed with whole leaf tettnang hops. After a brief steep on these hops the wort was quickly chilled to frigid temperature and fermented cold with our favorite German Kölsch yeast strain. After fermentation it was lagered at near freezing temperatures in neutral wine barrels, imparting softness and a subtle oak texture. Pouring a brilliant golden hue with a frothy white head, Kühlschiff Kölsch captivates the senses with its delicate floral aroma, courtesy of the Tettnang hops. Crisp malt sweetness balanced by a gentle hop bitterness.
