In a world where time marches forward relentlessly, Time Waits For Nothing reminds us that the finest things in life require patience—and a little bit of magic. This bold Belgian - Style Barleywine is brewed like a traditional Barleywine, however with the grain bill and yeast of a Belgian Quad, resulting in a beer that’s as complex as it is captivating.
The malt bill is a blend of Belgian Pils, Biscuit, Munich, and Special B, with the addition of Dark Candy Sugar. A single decoction mash and an intense 8-hour boil lay the foundation for deep complexity. Fermented with our favorite Belgian Monastery yeast, the beer carries the unmistakable character of Belgian heritage with a modern twist.
Time Waits For Nothing is set apart by aging in unique orange curaçao casks, which impart an exquisite burst of candied orange, giving the beer an unforgettable aroma and flavor. Pouring with a dark tawny hue, Time Waits For Nothing invites you in with enticing aromas of caramelized orange, warm spices, and rich malt. The first sip reveals robust caramel with a slight nuttiness, wrapped in refreshing citrus zest and brandied oranges. The finish is long and satisfying, with yeast-driven spice lingering alongside the rich sweetness.
This release is more than just a beer; it’s a journey through time, craftsmanship, and experimentation. Get ready to savor the moments, because time really does wait for nothing.

Similarly to its counterpart, Time pours a deep dark abyss of ruby flecked umber. While small amounts of carbonation are agitated upon the pour, this barleywine almost immediately settles flat in the glass.
The nose is a lot of fun; bright, inviting notes of candied citrus, orange burst raisels, and an almost madeira-like citrus on the back-end. Balancing notes of dark chocolate and umami bring the uniquely fragrant nose together seamlessly.
The palate begs for time to open up; poured cold doesn't allow for many of the layers to really shine. It opens up with Terry's dark chocolate oranges, intermingling with roasty malt, Caramellos, and a touch of Belgian esters on the finish. It's almost inexplicable as to how these core flavors of chocolate, caramel, and orange work so well together, but the way they layer into the profile and hit the palate in consecutive blows makes for an exceptionally unique and enjoyable journey.
The mouthfeel is very similar to Echo in the Void. Just a touch of higher carbonation, but still very low overall. While slightly syrupy, it works well with the profile, and hides the ABV very well.

Sampled at Barrique brewery. Very alcoholic on the nose. Taste is maple and bourbon, very tasty with a heavy mouthfeel. Overall, I liked this one slightly better than the Echo in the Void.
