Dated 01/27/25 (something) A DAY, into a pils glass, slow poured over 6 minutes.
Pours a deep golden, great head retention and very easy to build a lasting meringue-like foam over a few minutes. Aroma is bright lemon with tons of doughy biscuit and spicy, herbal hops. Flavor follows the nose. Slightly fruity, crisp, and sweet up front, but gently bitter on the back end. Not as bitter or sweet as some pilsners, but very malty and quite balanced. Feel is great, still nicely lively, and it's extremely light bodied without losing too much flavor. I think it could have a little more depth and a slightly longer finish, but anything too extreme would probably inhibit the extreme drinkability.
Overall, Barrique wins again. I didn't review my first can of this beer but I have had it before, so I attempted a slow pour to get a different experience at it. The same character is there, and I think this one was better without the slow pour due to the more lively carbonation present in the first beer I had a month ago, but it's still lovely stuff. Textbook "crushable" pils that hits every mark of the style.
