As one of the greatest Country artists this world has ever seen, Willie Nelson deserves our best attempt at a brew paying homage to him as the second installment in our one hop wonder series. Hopped exclusively with Nelson Sauvin hops, this beer shines with aromas and flavors of white wine, gooseberry and mango and is extremely complex for a single hopped beer. It will most definitely be always on your mind, and at 8% the ABV is a bit……..high, but we think Willie would want it that way. Settle in, put on an old vinyl and you’ll be goin’ places you’ve never been.

Poured from a tap at their brewpub into pint glass in February 2022.
Appearance: A dark gold IPA! Dark color with 2-finger tan head. It is deep and dark. Head is lasts a minute, leaving a small covering. There is a lot of lacing on the glass, like other IPAs.
Smell: A mixed aroma of citrus like grapefruit, pine, and hops. Also, a little earthy or straw aroma. Very well balanced and for an IPA.
Taste: Just like the smell, it is a mix of IPA and other flavors. There is nice hop bitterness like an IPA, but also citrus sweetness such as grapefruit. Has a very nice after-taste that lasts a long time. Overall, a very unique balance of IPA bitterness and sweetness.
Mouthfeel: Thick feel with a smooth strong body, which makes this very drinkable. Medium-Strong alcohol, which matches the 8.3% listed.
This is a very unique IPA. It has a nice mix of citrus, grapefruit, hops, chocolate, and other flavors, which makes it enjoyable. I like the overall balance, and this is smooth and nicely balanced. I prefer this than much more to their One Hop Wonders - Black Sabroth. I like this as well as their Lehigh IPA and would like to drink this again, and hope to travel back to their brewery to buy more.

Pours an opaque color of grapefruit juice with a half finger of head. The nose has modest dank notes. The flavor is a pleasing blend of dankness and tropical fruits. The bitterness is on the low end.

A - Opaque medium golden tan color with sticky white lacing.
S - Peppery gooseberry and passion fruit on the nose.
T - Same as the nose (go figure, right). Gooseberry, passion fruit, and some white grape and melon.
M - Big medium body with a really dry finish on the palate.
O - Not particularly a fan of Nelson hops but this beer works.
