Purchased a 4-pk at the brewery.
A - Medium gold colored pour with a dense white lacing ring.
S - Peach, passion fruit, and guava aroma.
T - Guava, peach, passion fruit, some tropical fruit and finishes with a distinct fruity bitterness. Drinks more like an IPA than a Kolsch and has a nice amount of resiny citrus residue.
M - Medium body with gentle carbonation.
O - Not your typical Kolsch and breaks the rules for the style, think, "American Bastardized". I took this to a family Christmas party today and bought it based on the style (without trying it first because it's typically an unobtrusive style), it was a total flop and I looked like an idiot (once again) with my macro-beer loving family. Personally, I like this but McCall totally pushed the envelope with this one so approach it with an IPA mentality, it's a total mind bend. I'm OK with McCall's boldness here but my macro-Lager loving family about threw me out of their house and called it "un-drinkable".
