Our flagship ale is inspired by the river that runs alongside our hometown of Red Bank—the mighty Navesink. Brewed with 8 varieties of hops, fermented with grapefruit, and double dry hopped to perfection, Navesink IPA presents notes of apricot, citrus, peach, and mango for a tart, fresh, juicy hop bomb!

Notes via stream of consciousness: This is a double IPA with grapefruit at 7.8% ABV and 78 IBUs. It's poured a cloudy dark amber body beneath a full head of off white foam. Once settled it's a creamy, rocky cap that's about a half an inch tall. In the nose I'm finding mainly citrus and soft pine over a dull malt base. It's not a very bright aroma, but it is a double IPA so I'm going to give it some leeway. The flavor is brighter and far more complex. I get grapefruit but not as much as I'd expected knowing that it has grapefruit added. There's some pine and resin to it as well which makes it kind of a throwback DIPA except that there's also a lot more fruit. I'm finding berries, apple, nectarine, and apricot. I'm not finding 78 IBUs - it might be there but it doesn't seem like it. I will say that it lingers though. After a few sips it lays on the back of the tongue and mouth. With that said, it's definitely a dry finish. As it crosses the palate you get the sweetish, bready, and lightly caramelish malt followed by a a mixture of malt and hop that includes fruitiness and resinous pine, and then increasing fruitiness as you get to the swallow. That fruitiness then fades but some resin and soft pine lingers beyond it; not for too long. As for the alcohol, it has a presence that's to be expected, but it's otherwise well cloaked. In the mouth it's medium-full in body and gently crisp-then smooth. The head held up fairly well and it's left some nice lacing about the glass. I personally think it's a bit to cloudy but hazy beers are all the rage now so I'll just let that go. It's nicely balanced and rounded, and I like the hop combination that straddles old school and new school DIPAs. Nicely done.

Copper almost amber pour, capped with two fingers of slightly off-white foam that sticks around nicely. Grapefruit flavor for sure, but also some pine comes through, as well as a sweet malt presence. Mouthfeel is substantial, solidly medium-bodied for an IPA. Short of outstanding, but a plus beer nonetheless.

Canned in November 2021 and enjoyed June 2022 so keep that in mind.
Pours hazy amber with a thick white head. Aroma is grapefruit citrus and hop floral. Taste follows, citrus forward with some hop bitterness. Feel is good, nice mouthfeel and smooth. Overall it's a decent IPA that is probably even better when fresh.

16 ounce can in a hourglass.

Red tinted copper color. 1f white cap that retains nicely and leaves foam lacing. Active bubbles, slightly hazed.

Pungent citrus rind, grapefruit. Melon and mango, stone fruit, sweet malt.

Strong grapefruit flavor. Fruit punch blends with caramel malt.

Medium bodied, sweet tart-like with hop bitterness. Sugary juices.

Flavor busy hop bomb DIPA. Modestly juicy. Worth a try.

3d Review. I paddle the Navesink all year long, or cycle round it, and produce TEDxNavesink (aka TEDxAsburyPark)
this could become our flagship beer, it's that good. Make no apologies nj between Carton, Kane, F Fish, and now this Ross.
a) Beer is reddish amber/ copper body, translucent haze, but as creamy and lathery a head as I've seen on a reddish DIPA.
s) Fruit forward, but tempered by caramel malt, wood, cedar juniper notes.
t) The wood notes, heart wood, sap, juniper rise further along with mango, red grapefruit.
f) Nice bitter, crisp, scrubbing feel.
o) Outstanding new brewer in Red Bank NJ.

On-tap at Tommy's Tavern in Morris Plains. Tremendous appearance replete with a foamy, frothy head. Assertive aroma redolent of pine and fresh hops. Chewy mouthfeel. Flavorful, rich, hop-forward flavor showcasing notes of ruby red grapefruit and tart apple. Excellent stuff for a local Jersey brewery. Worth a shot.

A: The beer is hazy amber yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high off white head that died down but consistently left a short head covering the surface and a thick layer of bubbles covering the surface.
S: Light aromas of mangos are present in the nose along with notes of grapefruit.
T: The taste has stronger and more balanced flavors of mangos and grapefruit along with notes of grapefruit pith in the finish. There is a moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I liked the contrast between the mangos and grapefruit in the smell and taste of this IPA.
