DATE: October 3, 2020... OCCASION: taking a break from sports and the Oktoberfests to try the last of six Axemann offerings from Jer--a great birthday gift! GLASSWARE: Penn State pilsner... pours a light, tawny-colored straw that heaps three fingers of frothy whiteness atop a swirling body of a storm of bubbles... lemon, light nuttiness, soap suds, cracker, earthy grains, with enough noble hops to suggest some aromatic, floral hints... not strong, but a hint of pepper too... its body is smooth and easy-drinking, with biting at the start... its finish is slightly dry, lingering in its bubbly presence... its flavor is balanced, with equal shares of sweet cracker and floral hops making the draw agreeable... lemon, peach, lilac, and some pepper and butter... a solid version of the style, with enough flavor to invite the next sip... another enjoyable offering from Axemann...

Poured into a narrow pilsner glass: color is straw, some chill haze, big 2+ inch thick head with fine bubbles, head lingers very well with some lacing on the glass.
Smell is light biscuit/bread, toast, grassy hops.
Taste is similar - light biscuity, bready malt toas and grassy hops, light herbal spice bit as well.
Mouthfeel is moderate carbonation, lighter sweetness, drying carbonation and bittering finish.
Overall a pretty clean pilsner, lighter flavor, crisp mouthfeel, very drinkable.
